Steel & Rolling
Hot rolling
Roll-gap lubrication and cooling for hot strip and plate mills.
The process
How we approach it
Radiant heat, scale and water carry-over decide how a hot mill fluid behaves. We formulate for plate-out on the work roll at high entry temperature and for fast separation once the emulsion returns to the cellar.
Measured outcomes
Consistent roll-gap friction across the pass schedule
Lower roll wear and fewer grinding cycles
Scale released instead of baked onto the strip
